Collecting shards
Hunting
Hunting is how you collect Honeypots filled with shards. Shards can be redeemed for all sorts of helpful and valuable items for you to use in the game allowing you to upgrade and hatch new Bees, receive mission boosts, and more!
EXAMPLE: Your Bee finishes his Hunt and you open the Honeypot he found. The Honeypot contains ten Shield shards and five Luck shards. Those shards are now in your Inventory. Check your Inventory to see if you have enough shards to redeem them for an item!
Quests
Each universe has unique Non-Playable Characters (NPCs) who have laid out Quests for you to follow. Explore the history of Honeyland while battling NPCs. Successful Quests will earn you shards!
Lucky Wheel
Spin the wheel and collect your Daily Gift(s)! Your VIP level determines how many times you can spin the wheel each day. You will start out with one spin; as you progress in the game, you can build up to having four spins a day! Each spin will add shards to your inventory.

How to redeem shards for items
Shards need to be redeemed for complete items before they can be used or sold to other players in the Item Marketplace. The more shards you redeem, the rarer and more valuable the resulting item will be.
1. Select the "Inventory" option from the menu. It's in the top right area and looks like a backpack.
2. After accessing the Inventory dashboard, select the desired shard and click on the "Use" option.
3. Combine shards to create items to use in the game.
Bee Stat Upgrades
Upgrade items strengthen your Bees by increasing their base stats.
Each Working Bee (Genesis and Generations) has 8 traits that can be upgraded: Health, Attack, Defense, Agility, Luck, Capacity, Recovery, and Endurance.
There are upgrade items for each of these traits which will level up that specific trait for whichever Bee the player chooses.
The rarer the upgrade item, the bigger the stat upgrade will be. The number of upgrades a Bee can use is based on that Bee’s Level Cap. For Hatched Bees the Level Cap is 10. A Bred Bee’s Level Cap matches the Level of the Queen used in the Breed (between 10 and 20).
When you add both upgrades and cosmetics that include upgrades, here's how the final stat is calculated:
The formula: (Base Stat X Upgrade) + Cosmetic Upgrades = Total Stat
Said another way, upgrades are calculated first and then any additional stats from cosmetics will be added on top.
Bee Upgrade Rarity | Cost | Background | Stat Increase |
Common | 20 shards | Green | 1% |
Rare | 40 shards | Blue | 2% |
Epic | 80 shards | Red | 3% |
Legendary | 150 shards | Yellow | 4% |
Mythic | 300 shards | Purple | 5% |
Reset Bee stat upgrades
You can reset the stat upgrades of a Bee. Visit the Workshop, choose the Bee you want to reset, and pay the HXD to return the Bee to its base stats. Any Cosmetic upgrades will stay in place.
Any upgrades you have applied will NOT be returned to you.
NOTE: Chase Bees cannot have their stats reset
The cost to reset your Bee's stats is based on Generation:
- Genesis: 200 HXD
- Gen1: 150 HXD
- Gen2: 100 HXD
- Gen3: 50 HXD
NOTE: This is only removes upgrades from the Bee and does not reroll for new stats.
Bee reset does NOT change:
- Landform
- Mood
- Like/Dislike
- Breed count
When you tap to reset a Bee’s stats, you will see a pop up showing you what the stat changes will be.
REMINDER: Any Cosmetic upgrades you have applied will stay in place.
Queen Stat Upgrades
Eventually, everyone will want to increase their Bee’s Strength, Luck, and Agility. Who wouldn't want to make their Queen even more regal!? This is where the game gets really exciting. Learning why and how to apply upgrades is fun.
A Queen’s Level indicates how many upgrade slots she will pass on to her offspring when she Breeds. The more upgrade slots a Bee has, the more you can improve its stats so it really pays to give them as many upgrade slots as you can! Each Queen upgrade will add one Level to the Queen. Queens have a level cap of 20 meaning that's the highest level they can achieve.
Example: A Level 12 Queen will produce offspring with 12 upgrade slots, allowing that Bee to be upgraded a maximum of 12 times.
The Queen's level also determines the percentage boost she provides when matching moods on missions.
Common and Rare Queen Upgrade items decrease the Queen's stats, Epic items will keep the Queen's stats the same, and Legendary and Mythic items will increase the Queen's stats when upgrading. The highest stat a Queen can have is 280.
NOTE: The Queen's mood changes when applying Legendary Queen Upgrades.
Queen Upgrade Rarity | Cost | Background | Approximate Stat Change* | Mood Change |
Common | 20 shards | Green | 3.2% drop | No |
Rare | 40 shards | Blue | 1.4% drop | No |
Epic | 80 shards | Red | No change | No |
Legendary | 150 shards | Yellow | 3.2% increase | Yes |
Mythic | 300 shards | Purple | 3.2% increase | No |
*The stat change above is based on a starting stat of 220. Actual change will vary based on how far the stat is from the maximum or minimum stat.
Queen Upgrade Example #1
Using Legendary and Mythic upgrades increases the Queen's stats.
REMINDER: Legendary Queen upgrades change the Queen's mood
Insert the appropriate percentage in the formula below:
- Genesis - 11%
- Gen 1 - 10%
- Gen 2 - 9%
- Gen 3 or Training - 8%
Assume the Queen's stat is 200 and she is a Genesis Queen
280 (Max Stat) - 200 (Current Stat) = 80
80 x 11% (Genesis Queen) = 8.8 which is rounded to 9
200 + 9 = 209
209 is the New Stat
Queen Upgrade Example #2
Using Common and Rare upgrades decreases the Queen's Stats
Insert the appropriate percentage in the formula below:
- Common - 20%
- Rare - 10%
Assume the Queen's stat is 210, using a Common upgrade
210 (Current Stat) - 180 (Minimum Stat) = 30
30 x 20% (Common Upgrade %) = 6
210 - 6 = 204
204 is the New Stat
Bulk Upgrades
You can add multiple upgrades to a Queen or Bee at the same time!
Visit Bee Lab, tap Workshop, choose your Bee, and choose your upgrades.
Queen and Bee Egg shards
Combine Queen Egg shards to create Queen Eggs which Hatch into Queen Bees. Combine Bee Egg shards to create male Bee Eggs which Hatch into male Bees.
The number of shards you combine determines the generation of Egg you receive.
NOTE: Gen 1 Bees have a variety of game-play advantages over Gen 3 Bees
- Gen 1 Eggs - 150 shards
- Gen 2 Eggs - 80 shards
- Gen 3 Eggs - 40 shards
